The Columba Cloth is one of Bronze Cloths.
Constellation and MythologyEdit
The Columba Cloth Stone is based on the Columba constellation, which has the form of a dove (columba being the Latin word for one). The dove is based on the story of Noah's Ark; when the 40 days of rain ceased, the Ark beached on a mountain. To see if the Flood was over, Noah sent out several birds into the world. Only the dove returned, carrying an olive branch in its mouth.
The dove is also a symbol of peace and the most popular emblem of the Holy Spirit in Christianity, as this was the form the Holy Spirit took during Jesus's Baptism and the event of Pentecost when God came upon the Apostles.
Doves were also one of the sacred birds of the goddess Aphrodite and her son Eros.
