The Cancer Temple (巨蟹宮, Kyokaikyū, the temple of the Giant Crab) is the fourth Temple (or House) of the Golden Zodiac. It is guarded by the Cancer Gold Saints.

Original 1986 Series[]
In the original animated series, the Cancer Temple is a giant edification whose shape resembles an "x" or a Greek cross if it is seen from above. In the center of the cross there is a semi-spherical dome embellished with six little pointed-shaped domes with two of them pointing to each arm of the cross and in the end of each arm there is two little domes as well. The entrance of the temple is located at its center (the intersection of the cross) and it is identified by a frieze with the motive of a Crab. Below the crab motive there is an inscription with the name of the temple, "CANCER" and below the frieze and the inscription there is a relief with the motive of the respective astrological symbol (♋️). The temple remains standing thanks to several Greek-styled columns.
The interior walls and columns of the Temple are ridden with the faces of the people murdered by the at the time Cancer Saint, the cruel Deathmask (he earned this moniker because of this horrible curse he put upon his victims). These faces are the representation of the souls of Deathmask's victims, they were alive and they screamed and moaned in lamentation all day and night, because their souls could not get the final rest. After Deathmask's defeat by Dragon Shiryu, the Temple was cleansed and the faces disappeared. Also it is resting place of the Cancer Cloth after the death of its wearer.
