The Atavaka Surplice (地魁星 アタバクの冥衣, Earth Prophet Atavaka's Surplice) is the the Surplice of Atavaka, the Terrestrial/Earthly Chief Star of Hades' 108 Specters.
Notable Features[]
The back of the armor has multiple arms, varying in total number between 12, 14, and 20 according to each appearnce of the armor. However, each of the extra arms displays a different hand sign.
Myth[]
In Japanese mythology, Atavaka, also known as the "Lord of the Forests" in the Sanskrit language, or Daiitoku Myō-ō is one of the Wisdom Kings in Japanese Shingon Buddhism. He used to be known as an infant-eating demon until he received Enlightenment from the Buddha. He subsequently became one of the Yaksha, or benevolent spirits of Nature and a vassal of Bishamonten, the sacred guardian spirit of the North in Japanese Buddhism.
